Sonia Sieff was born in Paris. The family apartment in the 17th arrondissement housed the studio in which her parents, Barbara Rix and Jeanloup Sieff, worked. Photography was no mystery to her; it ran in her blood, leading her to explore her own creative path through multiple experiences: film set photographer at the age of 20, then a portraitist, she finally turned her attention to fashion photography. She contributed to numerous magazines (Vanity Fair, Telegraph, Vogue), as well as film-making. Les Françaises is her first book.
